Power Shuttle Car – PSC (Perpendicular Application)

Power Shuttle Car – PSC (Perpendicular Application)

The Innoveyance Power Shuttle Car (Perpendicular Application) automatically transfers loads to and from conveyor lines arranged at a right angle to the car’s travel. It is the layout choice when lines feed into the shuttle aisle perpendicularly, common in compact plant footprints.

Right-angle line-to-line transfer

The shuttle travels its aisle and aligns to lines that meet it perpendicularly, then runs its on-board conveyor to take or place each load. This layout makes efficient use of floor space where machines and lines feed into a common aisle.

Automated, accurate, repeatable

Position control and positive drive index the car precisely to each perpendicular line under plant control, with the on-board deck matched to the connecting conveyors for clean handoffs at rate.

Rugged, US-built construction

Built for full load weights and continuous duty. Every system is engineered, built, and supported in the United States, so lead times, customization, and service stay close to your plant — not an ocean away.

Category:

The Power Shuttle Car — Perpendicular Application provides right-angle, line-to-line transfer. It can include manual or automatic controls to service specified pick-up and delivery points, with entry/exit photo-eyes on the conveyor to assist loading. An optional variable frequency controller provides smooth acceleration and deceleration, and slow-down and over-travel limits are provided.

Support Wheels: Four 8ʺ poly-type wheel assemblies in precision flange-mounted bearings. The floor surface must be smooth and level to ensure proper operation and prolong wheel life.

Features

  • Safety Features: Pressure-sensitive safety bumpers at both ends, with optional fail-safe sensors that stop the car when obstructions are detected ahead. A warning light and audible signal with automatic decibel tone indicate the car is in motion, and emergency-stop buttons are located at the control station (when applicable).

Specifications

  • Sideframe: 5ʺ x 6.7# structural channel with 1/4ʺ x 2-1/2ʺ drop-in roller support bar. Rollers are 10 gauge, 2-1/2ʺ diameter on 3ʺ centers on 11/16ʺ hex shafts; heavy-duty greased, shielded, sealed bearings rated 750# per roller.
  • PSC Drive: 1 or 1-1/2 HP brakemotor with optional variable frequency controller, capable of 100 FPM high speed; single speeds of 30, 45, or 60 FPM.
  • Conveyor Drive: 1 HP totally enclosed, industrial-rated 1750 RPM motor.
  • Power: Festoon cable connects to a mast mounted to the car.
  • Preassembly: Unit is wired and (if applicable) plumbed to a junction box at the factory.
  • Conveyor Height: 12ʺ TOR minimum.
  • Capacity: 5,000 lbs. maximum.
  • Voltage: 230/460 volt, 60 hertz, 3 phase with 115 volt single-phase control voltage.

FAQs

Q: What is a perpendicular-application power shuttle car?

A: It is an automated rail-guided shuttle that serves conveyor lines meeting its travel aisle at a right angle, indexing to each line and transferring loads with its on-board powered conveyor under automatic control.

Q: Which shuttle layout is right for my plant?

A: It depends on how your lines are arranged relative to the shuttle aisle — parallel or perpendicular. Innoveyance engineers the shuttle car and on-board deck to your specific layout, load, and rate.

Q: Is it built in the USA?

A: Yes. Innoveyance engineers, manufactures, and services the Power Shuttle Car in the United States.
