Pop-Up Pusher Device (PUP)

Pop-Up Pusher Device (PUP)

The Innoveyance Pop-Up Pusher Device (PUP) diverts loads off a conveyor line on command — a pusher rises and sweeps the product to a branch line or reject lane, then retracts. It is a simple, reliable way to sort, divert, or reject product inline.

Divert and sort on demand

When a load needs to leave the main line — to a branch, a reject lane, or a different machine — the PUP rises and pushes it off, then drops back flush so the line keeps running. It is an economical, dependable diverting and sorting device for cartons, bundles, and loads.

Compact and dependable

The pop-up pusher mechanism is straightforward and rugged, with few wear points and fast cycle times. Push force and stroke are sized to product weight, and control integrates with line logic for automatic sorting.

US-engineered build quality

Built for reliable, high-cycle inline diverting. Every system is engineered, built, and supported in the United States, so lead times, customization, and service stay close to your plant — not an ocean away.

The Pop-Up Pusher Device (PUP) is used for palletizing applications and for transferring product onto protective base sheets (requires optional sheet clamp). Six inches of overstroke ensures product is fully transferred onto the perpendicular conveyor. It is an integral part of a gravity, powered-roller, or accumulation conveyor, and includes an integral take-up assembly for power-conveyor applications. As an integral transfer component, the Pallet Roller Conveyor supports heavy-conveyance and end-of-line systems.

Features

  • Transfer Head: Two 1/2ʺ steel side plates mounted to 4-1/2ʺ dia. tapered UHMW wheels, connected to a 3-1/4ʺ x 2ʺ tubular and structural-steel head assembly, driven by two #60 chains on a common 1-1/2ʺ dia. shaft in precision pillow-block bearings. The head rides in a structural-channel sideframe with upper and lower cam followers. Optional wiper strip for sheet transfer; optional non-power rollers across the pusher head to aid pallet conveyance.
  • Drive: 1 HP totally enclosed, industrial-rated motor on an in-line reducer (grease-filled, maintenance-free for two years), located within and under the device. A rotary limit switch with #40 chain and sprocket sets adjustable forward (overstroke) head position.
  • Preassembly: Unit is wired and (if applicable) plumbed to a junction box at the factory.

Specifications

  • Conveyor Height: 12ʺ TOR minimum, with leg and device extensions available for other heights.
  • Speed: 45, 60 FPM available.
  • Capacity: 5,000 lbs. maximum.
  • Voltage: 230/460 volt, 3 phase, 60 hertz with 115 volt single-phase control voltage.
  • Overstroke: 6ʺ available to ensure full transfer.

FAQs

Q: What does a pop-up pusher device do? A: A pop-up pusher (PUP) rises from below the conveyor and sweeps a load off to a branch or reject lane on command, then retracts flush so the line keeps running — a simple way to divert and sort product inline. Q: How is a PUP different from a chain transfer or right-angle transfer? A: A PUP pushes product off the side and suits cartons, bundles, and lighter loads with fast cycles. Chain transfers (ACT) and right-angle transfers (RAT) carry heavy pallets at 90° with positive drive. Q: Is the PUP built in the USA? A: Yes. Innoveyance engineers, manufactures, and services the Pop-Up Pusher Device in the United States.
