Centering Device (CD)

Centering Device (CD)

The Innoveyance Centering Device (CD) squares and centers loads on the conveyor — driving guides in from both sides to align each bundle or load to the line centerline. Accurate centering is the prerequisite for clean transfers, stacking, strapping, and palletizing.

Square and center every load

Product arrives off-center and skewed. The centering device closes guides from both sides to align and square each load to a consistent centerline as it passes. Downstream stations then receive product in a known, repeatable position.

Better accuracy everywhere downstream

Centering improves the reliability of strapping, stacking, pallet insertion, and transfers — any operation that depends on product being where it’s supposed to be. It reduces jams and misfeeds caused by misaligned loads.

Engineered and US-built

Sized to product dimensions and integrated with the line. Every system is engineered, built, and supported in the United States, so lead times, customization, and service stay close to your plant — not an ocean away.

The Centering Device (CD) squares and centers every load. It uses articulating heads with scalloped edges to ensure contact with the bottom of the load and to break or fold up bottom sheets along the sides. It is an integral part of a Power Live (PLR) or Power Accumulating (PARC) roller conveyor.

Features

  • Centering Heads: Two 48ʺ wide x 1/2ʺ steel head weldments on 4ʺ dia. tapered UHMW trolley wheels riding in a structural-channel track, driven by two #60 chains on a common 1-1/2ʺ dia. shaft in precision pillow-block bearings. Roller spacing is 4-1/2ʺ around the chain bars and 3ʺ elsewhere. Scalloped heads ride below the roller surface with a UHMW wear strip. Overall width adds only 14ʺ per side to the thru-clearance. Optional non-articulating heads for machine infeeds or pallet applications; optional OEM controls for stand-alone units.
  • Drive: 1 HP totally enclosed, industrial-rated 1750 RPM motor/reducer with magnetic-particle clutch, located within and under the device.
  • Optional Feature: Full-height (48ʺ) backstop mounted to the articulating head for load stability.
  • Preassembly: Unit is wired and (if applicable) plumbed to a junction box at the factory.

Specifications

  • Head Speed: Constant 45 FPM.
  • Conveyor Height: 12ʺ TOR minimum, with leg and device extensions available for other heights.
  • Capacity: 5,000 lbs. maximum.
  • Voltage: 460/575 volt, 3 phase, 60 hertz with 115 volt single-phase control voltage.
  • Available Thru-Clearance: 96ʺ, 108ʺ, 120ʺ .

FAQs

Q: What is a centering device on a conveyor?

A: A centering device closes powered guides from both sides to square and align each load to the conveyor centerline, so downstream stations like strappers, stackers, and pallet inserters receive product in a known, repeatable position.

Q: Why is centering important?

A: Misaligned loads cause jams, misfeeds, and poor stacking. Centering gives every downstream operation accurate, consistent product position, improving reliability across strapping, palletizing, and transfers.

Q: Is the centering device built in the USA?

A: Yes. Innoveyance engineers, manufactures, and services the Centering Device in the United States.
